HIGH RISK WARNING
Trading in any financial market—including but not limited to equities, options, futures, and forex—involves a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. You can lose all or more of your initial investment. You should carefully consider whether trading is suitable for you in light of your circumstances, knowledge, and financial resources. Only risk capital should be used.
1. Educational Purposes Only; No Financial Advice
All information, content, materials, courses, examples, and analysis provided by THE Florida Trade Lab, its instructors, employees, or affiliates are intended strictly for educational and informational purposes only.
THE Florida Trade Lab is not a registered broker-dealer, investment advisor, or fiduciary. We do not provide personalized financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Nothing contained in our curriculum, websites, live sessions, or communications constitutes a solicitation, recommendation, endorsement, or offer to buy or sell any securities, options, futures, forex, or other financial instruments.
2. CFTC Rule 4.41 – Hypothetical Performance Disclaimer
HYPOTHETICAL OR SIMULATED PERFORMANCE RESULTS HAVE CERTAIN LIMITATIONS. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under-or-over compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight.
NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFIT OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN. Past performance of any trading system or methodology is not necessarily indicative of future results.
3. Results Are Not Typical
Trading is difficult and takes substantial time, discipline, and effort to master. Any testimonials, success stories, or examples of performance provided by THE Florida Trade Lab or its students are not typical. The success of any individual trader depends on numerous variables, including but not limited to:
- Individual aptitude, capacity for risk, and psychological discipline.
- Time commitment, capital available for trading, and strict adherence to a defined trading plan.
- Ever-changing macroeconomic events, market volatility, and unpredictable news cycles.
You acknowledge that you may not achieve any specific results or profitability, and you assume total responsibility for any losses incurred.
4. Options Trading Risks
Options trading entails significant risk and is not appropriate for all investors. Certain complex options strategies carry additional risk, including the potential for losses that may exceed your original investment.
Prior to buying or selling an option, you must read the booklet "Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options" (the Options Disclosure Document) published by the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC). Risks include, but are not limited to:
- Time Decay: Options are decaying assets; they lose value over time and can expire worthless.
- Assignment Risk: Short options positions can be assigned at any time, requiring you to deliver or purchase the underlying asset.
- Margin Risk: Trading options on margin can lead to margin calls and the forced liquidation of your positions without prior notice.
5. Futures and Forex (Leverage) Risks
Trading in the futures and forex markets involves the use of high leverage. Leverage can work against you as well as for you. A relatively small market movement can result in a proportionately larger impact on the funds you have deposited or will have to deposit. This may work against you as well as for you. You may sustain a total loss of initial margin funds and any additional funds deposited with the broker to maintain your position. If the market moves against your position or margin levels are increased, you may be called upon to pay substantial additional funds on short notice to maintain your position. If you fail to comply with a request for additional funds within the time prescribed, your position may be liquidated at a loss and you will be liable for any resulting deficit.
6. Technology and Platform Execution Risks
THE Florida Trade Lab does not provide execution platforms or brokerage accounts. You are solely responsible for your choice of broker and trading platform. Trading electronically involves inherent risks related to system failures, software bugs, internet connectivity issues, data latency, and hardware malfunctions.
We are not responsible for any losses incurred due to delayed execution, platform outages, misquotes, or the failure of any third-party software (including but not limited to TradingView or any brokerage platform).
7. Acknowledgment of Risk
By accessing the services, educational materials, and live sessions provided by THE Florida Trade Lab, you affirmatively agree that you understand the immense risks associated with trading. You acknowledge that you are executing trades at your own peril and hold THE Florida Trade Lab, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates completely harmless from any and all financial losses, damages, or liabilities that may arise directly or indirectly from your trading activities.
